Welcome to our information site about conditions and treatment of chest wall deformities

This site has been designed primarily to provide those with a chest wall deformity (pectus excavatum or sunken/funnel chest and pectus carinatum or pigeon chest) with informations about conditions and treatment options.

The senior pediatric surgeon Sergio B. Sesia is a designated expert for chest wall deformities and member of the „Chest Wall International Group“ (CWIG).

CWIG was founded during The Second International Nuss Procedure Workshop held in Istanbul in June 2009 and consists of the most experienced surgeons who are studying, developing and innovating methods to treat chest wall diseases, such as: Horacio Abramson (Inventor of the minimal invasive surgical technique of pectus carinatum, Buenos Aires, Argentina); Hyung Joo Park (Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital, Seoul, South Korea); Marcelo Martinez-Ferro (Inventor of the Dynamic Compression System, Buenos Aires, Argentina); Donald Nuss (Inventor of the minimal invasive surgical technique of pectus excavatum, Norfolk, U.S.A.); Robert E. Kelly Jr. (Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters, Norfolk, U.S.A.); Frank-Martin Häcker (American Hospital Dubai, U.A.E.); Hans K. Pilegaard (Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark); Mustafa Yüksel (Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, Istanbul, Turkey); Manuel Lopez (University Hospital of Vall d’Hebron, Barcelona, Spain)
